It all began with an idea.

Black Moon Bathhouse is a pioneering establishment founded with a profound purpose and a rich background deeply rooted in the principles of holistic wellness, community empowerment, and inclusivity. At its core, Black Moon Bathhouse aims to provide a sanctuary for women and fem-identified individuals to engage in deep self-care practices through a lens that celebrates Black, queer, and feminist perspectives. From its inception, Black Moon Bathhouse has been guided by a commitment to social justice, environmental sustainability, and the promotion of diverse perspectives. By harnessing the heat and steam from its steam sauna to cultivate herbs for its apothecary shop, BMB exemplifies its dedication to innovative, eco-conscious practices that benefit both its patrons and the planet.

At Black Moon Bathhouse, individuals can access a diverse range of wellness services, including steam rooms, infrared saunas, somatic bodywork and herbal products, all rooted in the principles of holistic healing and self-care. Through its offerings, BMB seeks to address the diverse needs of its clientele while fostering a sense of belonging and connection within the community.

With a focus on radical self-care and holistic wellness, Black Moon Bathhouse stands as a testament to the transformative power of intentional spaces designed to nurture the body, mind, and spirit. Black Moon Bathhouse is seeking to raise 1.5 million dollars in total.

75% of that capital raising is being solicited by accredited investors and grants and the other 25% crowdfunded by interested folks like yourself and smaller investors. We are taking this approach because we want to remain Black women-owned and co-op operated.

We are currently crowdfunding through I Fund Women with their rewards-based crowdfunding to raise $250,000.

Some dreamy art on this Thursday: Known as the “Birth of Venus”, the composition actually shows the goddess of love and beauty arriving on land, on the island of Cyprus, born of the sea spray and blown there by the winds, Zephyr and, perhaps, Aura. The Neoplatonic philosophical meaning is then clear: the work would mean the birth of love and the spiritual beauty as a driving force of life.

Transparency and honesty are personal pillars for me. So as the Founder of Black Moon Bathhouse, I wanted to be super transparent and honest with you all about how we are raising funds to bring this space to us all! I'm glad to share with you this amazing grant planner I got from @ifundwomen that helps me have all the information I would need for a grant at the ready like our logo, mission, vision etc AND track the grants I'm working on. Grant writing can be daunting but this makes it A LOT easier! Between @basblueus & @ifundwomen I feel so supported and prepared for this business venture! Thank you @ifundwomen & @basblueus !!! Part 2: Why are platzas so special? Many folks say platzas are a form of somatic therapy and I would agree. Mostly because folks don't usually give themselves 30 minutes of quiet surrendering to an experience. That's what platzas are, a quiet surrender to an experience in which the platza practitioner is there to simply bear witness, keep you safe and hold space for you to release what it is you need to.
